Served as Office Manager/Confidential Secretary to the Bishop and Cabinet of the United Methodist Church for many years before becoming the Executive Assistant/Office Manager for a member of Congress. Betty served in the capacity as Personal/Confidential Assistant to the Congress member for approximately 12 years before retiring to take a more active role in the field of Real Estate. During her years as executive assistant , she enhanced her skills in diplomacy, negotiations, and interpersonal relationships with other members, diplomats and celebrities.
